About the Event

The 2009 J/24 U.S. National Championship will be held on the waters of San Francisco Bay. The Bay Area is considered the most popular sailing venue on the West Coast. Its proximity to San Francisco, generally strong winds and scenic surroundings make the bay an ideal venue for sponsors to watch the events of the 2009 J/24 National Championship.

The J/24 sailboats are 24 feet in length and are raced throughout the world by well-known sailors including Olympians and America’s Cup sailors. 35 boats and over 175 sailors are expected to attend this regatta with representatives from Seattle, Portland, Idaho, Montana, Texas, and California. The U.S. Nationals competition will draw many top sailors vying for a berth at the J/24 World Championship. With over 5300 J/24 boats currently being sailed in 30 countries, competitors and non-competitors alike will be following the results.
